Break bulk cargo was once the most common shipping material from port to port and door to door, but today it represents a smaller percentage of the shipping industry. Most cargo today is shipped via containers, because using standardized containers simplifies the loading and unloading of cargo from ships and trains. There are times, however, when a standard container isn’t going to work.
When your cargo won’t fit readily into a container because of an odd size, or if the port of pick up or destination doesn’t have the capacity to handle the loading, then you’ll need an expert to help you navigate the special circumstances that comes with break bulk shipping.
